The Visit Angus app will act as your pocket tour guide, taking you through 80 different locations and 40 interactive experiences which are geo-located throughout Angus.
Angus Trails
The app features 80 different locations to visit here in Angus, split across 8 trails.
Our Angus Trail will take you through the whole of Angus, showcasing key venues in each of the towns and villages, including the picturesque Arbroath Harbour, the iconic Carnoustie Golf Links and the scenic Forfar Loch Country Park.
Our 7 town trails will take you to some of the best spots in each of our seven towns including the stunning Arbirlot Nature Trail in Arbroath, the historic Caledonian Railway in Brechin, the lifelike statues of Peter Pan and Bon Scott in Kirriemuir and the majestic House of Dun in Montrose, to name only a few.
You can follow the trails in full or pick bits and pieces depending on what you fancy seeing. The app has a checklist you can use to keep track of where you’ve been and where you still have to visit.
Interactive Experiences
With 40 different interactive experiences to unlock, you’ll be busy during your trip to Angus! But once you’ve visited a location and unlocked the experience, it will remain enabled on your app for you to use again and again wherever you are so you can remember your visit and keep the fun going.
Little ones will love our fun games, including catching the fairies at the Peter Pan statue in Kirriemuir, finding the butterflies at Forfar Botanists Garden, fishing at Forbes of Kingennie and challenging each other to a game of pooh sticks at the Shakin’ Brig in Edzell.
Our AR experiences will let you see some fantastic sights in augmented reality, including a Pictish Stone at Aberlemno, an osprey at Forfar Loch, a Spitfire at Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, and a dolphin on the Monifieth coast!
Explore Angus’ past with ‘Then & Now’ images at Reid Park in Forfar, Carnoustie Library and Simpsons Golf Shop in Carnoustie.
If a location isn’t open during your visit, fear not as you can still see inside some of our fantastic attractions with 360-degree images, including The Bothy Experience at Glamis, Tayside Police Museum in Kirriemuir, Hospitalfield in Arbroath and Barry Mill in Carnoustie.

As if you needed any further inspiration to start exploring, the app also features the Arbroath Smokie Trail, complete with audio guides, and a fantastic video library with stunning footage of locations in Angus, from the sea-washed Bell Rock Lighthouse off the coast of Arbroath to the stunning Loch Brandy in the Angus Glens.
