Shakin Brig

Shakin' Brig, Edzell

Description

The Shakin Brig (shaking bridge) is a pedestrian suspension bridge that crosses the River North Esk in the village of Edzell.

It can be reached off the High Street down a narrow lane called Gassie Brae.

The bridge was constructed around 1900. It is mainly constructed of wood with steel wires holding it in place. It gets its name from the obvious shaking sensation felt when a pedestrian crosses it.

From here you can follow the Blue Door Walk.
