Glamis

The picturesque village of Glamis was built in the late 1700s by the 9th Earl of Strathmore.

The importance of Glamis as a religious centre during the Pictish era is signified by the Pictish stones which can be found here.

Don’t miss a visit to Glamis Castle – the legendary setting of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, which has been home to the Earls of Strathmore since 1372 and was the childhood home of the Queen Mother. Take a tour of the magnificent castle and explore the vast gardens.

In Glamis village, step inside The Bothy Experience and learn all about the story of Scottish Bothies and the journey of the Gin Bothy. You can also book one of the tasting rooms to sample what’s on offer, and stock up at the Bothy Larder shop.
