Caravanning
If you are lucky enough to have your own caravan, or access to one from friends or family, this is a brilliant way to enjoy a low-cost break away. Your caravan is a mini home away from home, allowing you to have everything you need on hand, and you can come and go as you please with no set times for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Angus has a number of fantastic caravan parks, many of which have additional facilities for you to enjoy. On the coast, take your pick from parks such as South Links Holiday Park in Montrose, a stone’s throw from the beach, or Riverview Caravan Park in Monifieth, with magnificent views across the River Tay.
Further inland, there are plenty of options to choose from in picturesque surroundings. Foresterseat Caravan Park outside of Forfar is in an idyllic countryside setting with a restaurant next door. Lochside Caravan Club is located right next to the stunning Forfar Loch Country Park and welcomes return visitors year after year. Drumshademuir Caravan & Camping Park has a number of touring pitches available alongside immaculate facilities for your convenience. Nethercraig Holiday Park is in a lovely quiet location surrounded by farmland with beautiful views of the hills.
If you don’t have your own caravan, don’t despair! Angus also has a number of caravan parks where you can hire a holiday home for your break. Seaton Estate in Arbroath is a residential and holiday village, with a number of high-quality homes to hire and on-site entertainment at Seaton House. The Red Lion Holiday Park, also in Arbroath, is only a short walk from the beach and a range of beachside attractions. The on-site Leisure Complex has some fantastic facilities including a swimming pool, games room, soft play and a bar.

Camping
Enjoy the great outdoors with a camping break in Angus. Leave technology behind for a few days, go to sleep under the stars and wake up to the sounds of nature – what could be better? You don’t need lots of expensive equipment to go camping, and there are many campsites in Angus with facilities for your convenience, including electric hook-ups, laundries and showers.
Sited in an idyllic location overlooking Lunan Bay beach, Lunan Farm campsite has 16 grass pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents. The site has electric hook-up along with toilet and shower facilities, fresh drinking water and an on-site farm shop. Greenhillock Glamping near Forfar offers spacious pitches for tents, nestled among the wildflowers, giving visitors the opportunity to relax and enjoy nature at its finest. A number of facilities are available including a communal BBQ area and pond dipping equipment.
Alongside these locations, a number of the holiday parks mentioned previously welcome tent dwellers alongside caravan goers – including Nethercraig Holiday Park near Kirriemuir, Lochside Caravan Club in Forfar and South Links Holiday Park in Montrose.

Glamping
Not quite ready to give up all of your creature comforts? Take camping to the next level with a glamping experience in Angus and enjoy the best of both worlds – surrounded by nature with a luxury touch.
Newbarns Glamping near Lunan Bay offer luxury glamping experiences in self-contained pods. Each pod sleeps up to three people and has a kitchenette, wet room and a spacious decking area with hot tub. Kilry Eco Pods have two cosy pods in stunning Glen Isla. Each pod has a double bed, camp bed and small kitchen area. Amazing views guaranteed!
Greenhillock Glamping near Forfar have a couple of options for you to choose from – take your pick from the luxury Hobbit House with log burning stove and kitchenette, or a more rustic experience in a pop-up bell tent, complete with carpeted floors and beds. Peel Farm Holidays near Kirriemuir have a range of standard or premium glamping pods for you to choose from. All pods are in their own private area with wood fired hot tub, while the premium pods have some additional features. For something a little bit different, head to Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort for a stay in one of their beautiful Shepherd Huts.

If you’d rather have a bit of extra freedom, Angus has a number of motorhome hires available. Motorhomes provide just as many facilities as a good hotel, without the check out times, and give you the freedom to choose where you lay your head.
Ezi Campers in Arbroath have a lovely high spec VW Camper for hire which sleeps four people, complete with sleeping bags, camping gas, camping chairs, air conditioning and much more besides. They even offer a customer pickup and delivery service for a hassle-free break. North Coast Dubs have a selection of pop top VW Campers for you to choose from, each sleeping four or five people.
