Community volunteers work together in a market garden, planting and tending crops in long cultivated beds beside a large polytunnel. Several people are spread across the growing area, using tools and wheelbarrows while working on rows of vegetables separated by woodchip paths and freshly prepared soil. The site includes small wooden buildings, composting areas and productive growing plots surrounded by open fields and mature trees. Bright sunshine, a blue sky and healthy green crops highlight the scale of the project and the collaborative effort involved in sustainable food production and community growing.

About the venue:

 

Come along to our Open Day at the farm to stock up on winter plants, buy our produce, enjoy some tea and cake and take a tour of the farm to hear about what’s happening here.

Our Farm is being curated in a nature-friendly way, where creating habitats for wildlife is just as important as growing food for our local community.

Farm tours will take place at 10.30am and 11.30am. Booking is not required.

Wheelchair users may struggle to self-propel on the uneven ground, which could be made worse depending on the weather (e.g. wet weather making the ground muddy).

Parking is limited so we encourage walking, cycling or car sharing where possible.
