East Scryne Fruit Playpark

Description:

East Scryne Fruit’s playpark in Carnoustie offers a delightful, family-friendly experience designed to keep children entertained while adults relax nearby.

East Scryne Fruit Farm has a super children’s playpark, which is free for customers of the tearoom and farm shop to use. The area is newly pedestrianised and has plenty of outdoor benches, making it easy to enjoy your café purchases while watching or playing with your children.

The playpark features a variety of engaging attractions:

* Bouncy Pillow: A large inflatable pillow provides endless fun for kids to jump and bounce on.
* Straw Bale Castle: Children can climb and explore this creative structure made from straw bales, sparking imaginative play.
* Swing and Sandpit: A traditional swing set and a sandpit filled with toys offer classic outdoor enjoyment. The sandpit is thought to be the largest in Angus, making it a standout feature of the playpark.
* Strawberry Cottage: A charming playhouse where little ones can engage in pretend play.
* Picnic Tables: Conveniently placed tables allow families to enjoy their shop and tearoom fruit and treats while supervising their children at play.

Adding to the charm, the farm is home to three friendly miniature cashmere goats. Children have the opportunity to feed and pet these goats, an activity affectionately termed “goat therapy” by the farm, offering a soothing and joyful experience for visitors of all ages.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, dog-friendly, and provides ample free parking, making it a convenient and welcoming destination for families.

Opening Times:
Monday to Sunday – 10am to 4pm ( including bank holidays) from mid-April – mid-September.

Dog Friendly

At East Scryne Fruit Farm, dogs are not just welcome — they’re part of the family. The team knows how important it is to include four-legged friends in days out, which is why the tearoom is a truly dog-friendly destination.

Outdoor and Indoor Spaces: Dogs are welcome throughout most of the farm, including the spacious outdoor seating areas and the covered seating inside the tearoom – perfect for those unpredictable Scottish days.

There are water bowls to keep pups hydrated while visitors enjoy their coffee, cake, or a scoop of the farm’s delicious berry ice cream.

Visitors can pop into the tearoom or farm shop and their dog will be treated to a free biscuit — just a little extra to make them feel right at home.

You can also treat your hound to doggie ice cream or an East Scryne pack of dog treats to take home.

Those who walk to the farm with their dog (or arrive without a car) can let the team know at the counter to enjoy a special eco discount — 10% off a hot drink to say thank-you for treading lightly and keeping tails wagging.

With miles of rural paths nearby and a safe, welcoming space to rest and refuel, East Scryne is a great stop-off for walkers and dog lovers alike. The team only asks that dogs remain on leads and are kept under control, especially around children and the farm’s friendly goats.

Whether visitors are dropping by for berries, brunch, or just a breath of fresh air, dogs are always welcome at East Scryne.
