Scotland’s Gardens Scheme – Glenogilvy Schoolhouse Garden
22 May 2021, 10:00 am - 23 May 2021, 5:00 pm
This spacious country garden of approximately one acre faces south to the Sidlaws over the Glen Ogilvie Burn.
In early summer the cherry trees, rhododendrons and azaleas are especially colourful and the emerging herbaceous planting, roses and summer bedding are reflected in the large tranquil landscaped pond.
Many wandering paths lead you on different levels through ‘rooms’ and dells with hidden surprise characters, past a young birch meadow, fruit espalier walk and vegetable area with its model compost bays, then under a shady scented wisteria-draped pergola leading back to the main lawn. There is a variety of seating areas at select points along the way.
Directions: From the A90, take the A94 towards Glamis and turning left up the hill on the A928. Turn off the A928 into Glen Ogilvy and the Schoolhouse is the first stone-built house on left.
Admission £5. Children Free.
Homemade Teas, Children’s Activities, Partial Wheelchair Access.
Beneficiaries: North Angus District Scout Council – Glamis Scout Hall Redevelopment Fund 60%.
