Meet the Jacobites & Redcoats at House of Dun

This summer meet characters from History at the House of Dun. In the setting of a small-scale historical camp in the grounds, representing both sides of the 1745 Jacobite Rising.
With two expert interpreters giving hands on history from ‘Up An At Em History’, who will be representing a Redcoat Soldier of the Government Army & a Jacobite Lady, hear stories of both sides of the cause, see the clothing, equipment, weapons & everyday items that they used at home or in battle.
Along with a living history camp, there will be talks on life in the Jacobite era. There will also be an opportunity to take part in a children’s Highland Charge* during the day.

The House of Dun’s owners at the time were Jacobite supporters, they built wonderful imagery into the decorations inside the building, or were they? Book onto one of our popular costumed guided tours to decide for yourself & learn more about the history of the house.
