The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra
1 June 2024, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
£20The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra has been at the forefront of traditional Scottish music for over 40 years. Described as “Scotland’s leading fiddle orchestra” they perform annually in Scotland’s major concert venues including Edinburgh Usher Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Aberdeen Music Hall and Perth Concert Hall.
Every year they also perform outside Scotland, recently Manchester Free Trade Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Sage Gateshead. They tour overseas with visits to Australia, New Zealand, North America and China but they’ve never played in Angus – until now!
A 60-strong orchestra under the baton of conductor Blair Parham, will share the stage in the Reid Hall with singers and pipers for an evening of world-class entertainment perfect for the whole family. Music lovers of all ages can expect to enjoy toe-tapping reels and jigs, lively strathspeys and marches, and poignant slow airs performed by the skilled members of one of Scotland’s foremost traditional music organisations.
