Kirrie BioBlitz 2022
26 August 2022, 9:00 am - 28 August 2022, 10:30 pm
‘Bio’ means ‘life’ and ‘Blitz’ means ‘to do something quickly and intensively’. Together they make ‘BioBlitz’; a collaborative race against the clock to discover as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible, within a set location, over a defined time period. The Kirrie BioBlitz 2022 is a chance to explore the variety of life on our doorstep and its happening from Friday 26th August until Sunday 28th August 2022.
Throughout the weekend you’ll be able to practise your identification skills, learn all about citizen science and why it’s so important, and have fun finding out more about the living world we share our town with and how we can help it thrive. So whether you’re a seasoned spotter or just nature curious we would love you to get involved with our wildlife discovery weekend!
The BioBlitz weekend is the perfect time to rediscover what’s on your doorstep and share your love of nature with others. We have events for all ages and levels of knowledge; take a look at the programme below and book up! Together we can share the joy for all things wild.
