Mortuary Chapel Tour – Arbroath

Visit the Mortuary Chapel in the centre of the Western Cemetery in for a tour of one of the most remarkable of the many fine buildings within Arbroath. The Mortuary Chapel was designed by Patrick Allan-Fraser as a memorial to his late wife Elizabeth and her deceased parents John and Elizabeth Fraser (née Parrott).

The building is nationally significant and is notable for its eclectic mix of styles, including reference to Scottish, English and possibly other precedents from East European Gothic. Every part of the building is important because every part received great care in design.

Meet at the Mortuary Chapel in the centre of the Western Cemetery for a tour starting at 2pm. The Mortuary Chapel is located about 20 minutes walk from Hospitalfield Hosue, or 5 minutes by car.

Tickets must be purchased in advance online or in person at Hospitalfield’s Walled Gardens.
