This is a first appearance in Montrose and Angus by the award-winning duo of Rachel Davis and Darren McMullan from Cape Breton in Canada. Rachel, on fiddle and vocals, together with Darren, who is a multi instrumentalist and also on vocals, have played together for almost a decade, as well as being members of the leading Canadian band, Coig.

With a dynamic mix of vocals, fiddles, guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki and whistles, the duo of Rachel Davis and Darren McMullan breathe new life into age-old tunes, while crafting original songs, which feel instantly timeless. Every performance is a vibrant journey through sound – passionate, precise and irresistibly alive.

Rachel and Darren have forged a new path with their latest Album of original songs, entitled ” Home.” This new project won the 2024 Music Nova Scotia Award for Roots Recording of the Year, as well as earning nominations from both the Canadian Folk Music Awards and the East Coast Music Awards.
