Don’t miss a visit to the fun-filled Blue Seaway park at the beautiful Monifieth seafront.
The sandy park has lots of great equipment including climbing nets, slides and swings, as well as a skate park and tennis courts.
The park is easily accessible with free parking, frequent buses and a train station nearby. Public toilets are available here too.
The Bay Diner cafe is nearby if you’d like a bite to eat, or take a picnic to enjoy at the park.
There’s lots of great activities on offer at Monikie Country Park.
Enjoy playing in the playpark, try your hand at a variety of watersports including sailing, canoeing and kayaking, or venture round the self-led trails by foot or bike.

Café Byzantium is on site and is open throughout the summer, or you can hire a BBQ or take a picnic to enjoy.
Just along the road from Monikie, Crombie is another stunning country park with lots to do.
Explore the superb adventure playground, enjoy a range of trails on foot or by bike, and try the mini cycle track for mountain bikes.

There are no catering facilities at Crombie but you are welcome to take a picnic to enjoy.
This fantastic sandy park at Carnoustie seafront has a range of play equipment for little ones to enjoy.
Have fun exploring the wooden climbing frames, complete with slides and rope nets, get wet in the splash zone and enjoy crazy golf and tennis in the summer months.
Free car parking is available at Carnoustie Leisure Centre where there are also public toilets and a small café where you can recharge with a tasty snack and drink. The train station is only a short walk away and there are regular bus services.
West Links Park provides great fun for all the family with lots to do here.
Enjoy playing in the adventure playground, have a race in the mini cars, try your hand at a round of crazy golf or foot golf and make a splash in the paddling pool.
The park has a large car park as well as regular bus services, and there are public toilets. A kiosk within the park provides drinks and snacks and there is a large picnic area too.
Also at West Links you’ll find Arbroath Cinema, Jumping Joey’s soft play, Pleasureland amusements and a beautiful sandy beach.
Friockheim Park is a lovely village park with a large play area, bike area, football pitches and woodland to explore.
There is a car park, and public toilets can be found at the Bus Stance opposite. There are shops within the village and also a great cafe at nearby Friockheim Hub.
The fun-filled play park at Montrose seafront has lots to enjoy for all the family.
Here you’ll find a fantastic splash zone area with water jets, as well as a large sandy play area with climbing frames, slides and swings.
A small kiosk at the park provides snacks and drinks. There are public toilets here too, as well as free parking and regular bus services.
You can also visit the lovely beach where you can enjoy views over to Scurdie Ness lighthouse.
Brechin Castle Centre has a beautiful country park with lots for little ones to do.
The play area offers everything from all terrain go-karts and a sledge run to a farm themed courtyard with pedal tractors and water play. There is also a giant sandpit, jumping pillows, zip slide, crazy golf, foot golf and much more.
Don’t miss the magical Fairy Trail through the woodland where you can spot fairies among the trees.
Food and drink is available from the café within the centre or the outdoor kiosk within the park area, or you can take a picnic to enjoy. The centre has a large car park and there are bus services which stop here too. Toilets are available in the centre and the park.
Please note there is an admission fee for the country park.
One not to be missed, Neverland is a brilliant park on Kirriemuir Hill dedicated to Sir JM Barrie.
Explore the fantastic play equipment themed on Peter Pan, Captain Hook and a crocodile. There is also a Lost Boys hideout, pirate ship and an aerial slide.
Public toilets are available within the Cricket Pavilion building where you will also find the historic Camera Obscura as well as Café Obscura which are open at weekends.
Kirriemuir Hill has plenty of open green space, perfect for picnics, kite flying and kicking a ball around. There is also a large car park and bus services.
The beautiful Forfar Loch Country Park has a great playground for little ones as well as lots of open space to explore, a skate park and of course the loch itself which is popular with walkers and cyclists.

There are no catering facilities at Forfar Loch but you are welcome to take a picnic to enjoy and there are various shops and cafes nearby.
Murton Farm & Nature Reserve, just outside of Forfar, is a lovely spot for a visit with lots to see and do.
Meet the friendly collection of animals including goats and donkeys, explore the large play area complete with trampolines, mud kitchen, slides and much more and take a leisurely stroll around the extensive nature reserve.
Murton have regular events including Murton Makers and Meet the Animals sessions. You can also enjoy a ‘Rucksack Ramble’ all year round.
The park has free entry and a large car park. There is also a tearoom where you can enjoy a bite to eat and a drink, and toilets for customers.
