James McLaren & Son Bakers Ltd, is a family run business which was founded in 1893, at Market Street Forfar.

Today the business is run and managed by the 5th generation of the family, Karen Murray (great great granddaughter of founder James McLaren).

As well as the original bakery and shop located in Market Street, McLaren’s have another 2 shops at The Cross, Forfar and High Street, Kiriemuir.

McLaren’s are renowned for the famous Forfar Bridie, which are made by the onsite bakers daily, along with a large selection of other meat produce, fresh bread and rolls, and of course not forgetting the sweet treats – cakes and biscuits!!

With such a great selection of savoury and sweet on offer there is sure to be something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

Forfar Market Street & Kirriemuir High Street:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 8am to 1pm
Thursday – 7.30am to 2pm

Forfar The Cross:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 8am to 3pm
Thursday – 8am to 1pm
Saturday – 7.45am to 2pm
