Super Nature:

A love letter to nature filmed exclusively on Super 8, Sayers’ debut feature SUPER NATURE proposes a new way of seeing.

Wanting to make a film about nature that didn’t cost the earth (literally and figuratively), Ed Sayers sent 80 vintage Super 8 cameras to 40 people across 25 countries and asked them to film the wild places closest to their hearts, on land, under the sea, in the air.

The result is SUPER NATURE. A poetic, personal, and beautiful portrait of life on earth. A mosaic of images and words painting a vision of our globe through different languages and perspectives, and the eyes of people from all corners of our planet – shot entirely on the home-movie format.

SUPER NATURE is both a celebration of everything we have, and a gentle reckoning with all we stand to lose.

Shot by a combination of professional filmmakers and local enthusiasts alike, and scored with diverse music, SUPER NATURE sees a growing network of makers take to this antique format, to share images, thoughts and philosophies in a gentle, beguiling way. The result is a fresh perspective on the most pressing subject of our times.
