Wader Week at Montrose Basin

At Montrose Basin, we’re running Wader Week 10th-16th August!
The summer holidays may be coming to a close, but there’s still lots to look forward to, like the many thousands of wading birds returning to the Basin after breeding season.
What’s on?
- Help us count wading birds from the visitor centre every day
- Wader ID Treasure Hunt on every day in the visitor centre
- Wed 12 August, 1:30pm: Ask A Ranger at the Wigeon Hide
- Thur 13 August, 1:30pm: Ask A Ranger at the Goose Hide
- Thur 13 August: Our old greenshank’s 16th ringing anniversary! This will make it the oldest ringed UK resident greenshank.
- Sun 16 August, 9:30am: join us as we wade out onto the Basin ourselves for Journey to the Centre of the Mud! Booking required.
