Study Day: Ecologies of Listening
About This Event
Hospitalfield is pleased to present Ecologies of Listening, a Study Day on sound, curated by sound artist and musician, SHHE.
Welcoming UK and international artists whose practices are deeply rooted in sonic awareness, this gathering is an invitation to attune to the interconnectedness of our environments and an exploration of deeper modes of listening.
Across performances, discussions, and shared reflections, the day explores sound as movement—fluid and temporal—travelling across diverse genres and geographies. Together, we will consider how listening might help us to imagine and nurture new futures. What could it mean to listen more carefully, and more collectively?
In 2024 and 2025, SHHE curated the music programme for Hospitalfield’s now bi-annual Summer Festival. This study day marks a moment of reflection, allowing for deeper engagement with the invited artists and the audience, this will feed into the evolving festival programme in years to come.
