Easter Fun at Glamis Castle

Glamis
£6.00 - £19.50
03 Apr - 19 Apr, 2026

About This Event

Over the Easter break, Glamis Castle offers a lovely day out for all the family. Come and experience the great outdoors whilst taking part in some family-friendly activities.

Our gardens are the perfect place for a family day out over the Easter school holidays. Children can bounce to their heart’s content on our bunny bouncy castle and adults can unwind with a hot drink and sweet treat when visiting our our horsebox café.

For a bit of adventure, the whole family can take part in our interactive augmented reality trail. Using your mobile phone, we will ask you to scan several QR codes hidden throughout our gardens and grounds to uncover clues, complete challenges and solve riddle in search for some curious creatures that have made our gardens their home this Easter.

Best of all, both the bouncy castle and augmented reality trail are included within the price of any entrance ticket between 3 and 19 April, but please be advised that our bouncy castle will only operate weather permitting.

Easter Cupcake Decorating on Saturday 4th April:
Join us in the Castle Kitchen Restaurant between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 4 April to decorate your very own Easter cupcake! Our friendly team will be on hand to help children ice and decorate their cupcake, although we do ask parents to stay and supervise too. If children wish to join in, it will cost £1 per cupcake.

Easter Bonnet Making and Parade on Sunday 5th April:
Children can get creative when making their very own Easter bonnet in our Castle Kitchen Restaurant between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday 5 April. This activity costs £5 per child and includes all materials required. At 12 noon, line up to join in our Easter bonnet parade for a chance to win a special prize! If you already have a bonnet at home, please bring it along on the day and join in the fun.

National Tartan Day Celebrations on Monday 6th April:
Join us for a day of Scottish traditions and fun as we celebrate National Tartan Day at Glamis Castle.

Traditional Scottish Music:
We will have a live Piper located at the front entrance of the castle who will play traditional Scottish tunes at 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm. Alternatively, tap your feet to the tunes of our talented accordionist who will be located in our Courtyard area between 1-3pm.

Tartan Talks:
Discover the art of tartan weaving and hear fascinating insights about Scotland’s rich textile heritage when coming along to one of the tartan talks hosted by local textile company, Strathmore Woolen Mill.

If you come along to Glamis Castle wearing tartan, we will reward you with homemade shortbread when you purchase a tea or coffee from our Castle Kitchen Restaurant. What’s more, if you wear a kilt or tartan skirt, you can enjoy complimentary access to our gardens and grounds!

Access over the Easter holidays is based on our Gardens and Grounds admission tickets: £9.50 per adult, £6.00 per child (5 – 16 years) and free for children under 5 or Castle, Gardens and Grounds admission tickets: £19.50 per adult, £11 per child (5 – 16 years) and free for children under 5.
