Sir Jimmy Shand MBE MA was Scotland’s most celebrated accordionist and one of the country’s greatest musical icons.

He helped popularise Scottish dance music around the world through his recordings, broadcasts, and international tours.
His influence continues to inspire generations of musicians including Brandon McPhee who has helped keep the legacy of the legendary Sir Jimmy Shand alive through tribute albums, concert tours, and more including performances using Jimmy Shand’s famous Hohner Shand Gola and the 001 Hohner Shand Morino of the assembly line.

Brandon is an All Scotland Senior Accordion Champion and singer, having won the prestigious Jimmy Shand Shield in 2014 and becoming the first button accordionist in 27 years to win. He received the Jimmy Shand Music Inspirational Award at the Hot Country TV Awards in recognition of his contribution to preserving and promoting the music and legacy of Sir Jimmy Shand.
