A Horticultural Camp Out at Hospitalfield
About This Event
Tickets are now live for Grow Up! – our annual summer camp out led by gardeners, growers, researchers, artists and designers.
Expect guided walks, talks and workshops on the topic of systems, supply chains and material histories in horticulture.
This year’s programme centres on the topic of SUPPLY; where do our plants come from? Why is one variety more readily available than another? Who is making that decision for us? What journey does a rose take, from the soil that it is grown in to the vase on your table? How do seed banks operate, and what relationship do they have to food security?
The events will take place throughout Hospitalfield Studios and House, grounds, in Arbroath Town & the surrounding landscape. Please bring clothes suitable for outside and good walking shoes. Please bring warm socks as for some indoor activity in the house we will have our shoes off.
Arbroath has a bit of a micro-climate so often dry and sunny but there is a chance of rain of course and the temperature will go down to 8 degrees at night so please come prepared with plenty of warm things for a good sleep.
The programme starts at 4pm on Friday 19 June, when participants can arrive to set up tents and runs to the evening of Sunday 22 June. Participants have the option to stay over on Sunday 21 June and de-camp on the morning of Monday 22 June.
We are offering camping spaces in Hospitalfield’s beautiful grassy greens. Please bring your own tent.
Hospitalfield’s chef will be providing delicious food for Grow Up! We love working with local produce. The food will be vegetarian.
Tickets: Camping – £140, Non camping – £100. Full weekend’s programme and delicious meals included in all ticket prices.
