Edzell Golf Course

Description:

Edzell Golf Club, which lies at the foothills of the Angus glens, was established in 1895. The Grampian mountain range forms a backdrop to this lovely heathland and parkland course, which was originally laid out in 1895 by Bob Simpson.

In 1933, the course was re-designed on recommendations made by James Braid and more lately by Martin Ebert, who recently worked on Turnberry and Royal Portrush. The tweaks and improvements have refined an already well-respected course creating a must-play venue.

What hasn’t changed is the course’s reputation for the quality of turf on its fairways and greens. Equally, the serenity and tremendous views north to the Grampian Hills continue to make it a memorable destination for anyone planning a golfing break in Angus.

Within an hour’s drive from St Andrews or Aberdeen and even less from Dundee, the course is situated in some 128 acres and has been complemented with the addition of the nine-hole West Water course.
