The Stag, Forfar, offers some of the best hospitality in Angus. There is a large selection of draught and bottled beers, house wines, a wide range of gins and over 25 whiskies in the bar, along with a weekend entertainment schedule. The Beer Garden is open from late spring till late summer, weather permitting.

The Stag recently won “Best Beer Quality Award” for Scotland in 2021 and 2024. We have been finalists for last 4 years, so you can expect the best attention is given to our beer.

The restaurant offers an excellent and regularly updated international menu including traditional Scottish favourites. Burger night is on Tuesday, Steak Night takes place on Thursdays, and the ever popular roasts are available on Sundays. The Stag also do theme nights on Fridays and have a weekly specials board. Bookings are preferred for restaurant meals to avoid disappointment.

Visitors can take part in the popular Quiz Night with free entry on Thursday nights, and enjoy live music on Saturdays.

The Stag can accommodate bus tour bookings by pre-arrangement.

Our café offers friendly luxurious surroundings along with our upmarket service and is popular with locals as well as tourists. Enjoy our range of coffees, teas, cakes and traybakes along with light lunch options.

Our very popular and excellent quality Afternoon Teas are available Wednesday to Saturday (advance booking only).

The café can cater for large celebration bookings such as Baby Showers, Retirement Functions and Birthdays.

The café is located on the 1st floor and has lift access.

A meeting room is available on the 1st floor for corporate & private functions.
