A Longer Table is a zero waste food and refill shop in Kirriemuir, aiming to eliminate single use plastic packaging, reduce food waste and make environmentally friendly shopping choices affordable and accessible to all whether you have a local address or visiting from further afield.

Selling loose dry store cupboard staples – ‘buy only what you need’ – including rice, pasta, baking ingredients, beans, pulses, herbs, spices, tins, jars, tea, coffee, household cleaning, laundry and personal care products. On Fridays we also have deliveries of organic bottled milk & butter, free range eggs, fresh veg and fruit, local artisan bakery – sourdough and other breads, croissants, scones and a selection of gluten free sweet bakes.

Our principles include sharing what we have, helping families budget and spend less on everyday food and household items, building a community where giving and receiving is acceptable and the norm.
To achieve these aims we have a loyalty card scheme which discounts over time for regular customers, a family discount card for people with children of Primary school age and a ‘pay it forward’ tree. Please ask more about these when you come in

Our Community Coffee Space is open to all on Mondays all day. Somewhere to come and have a good pot of tea, a barista style coffee and a cake. We try to include a vegan and a gluten free option each week.
Although the Coffee Room is scheduled only on Monday at present, in reality you can come in for a drink and a blether any time we are open and able to put the kettle on.
