Nestled in the stunning landscape of Glenesk, the Folk Museum offers unforgettable heritage and hospitality for all.

Originally created by local schoolteacher Greta Michie in 1955, the museum celebrates the unique lifestyle of the Glen. It showcases the creativity, community, and industriousness of people past and present; and is surprising and familiar in equal measure.

The museum is open to all free of charge, with any donations gratefully received. Stroll around the galleries, and enjoy the gardens and wee woodland walk.

Visitors can also enjoy a drink and a bite to eat in the Glenesk Folk Museum Café.

Tuesday to Sunday – 10am to 4.30pm

Dog Friendly

Glenesk Folk Museum is dog friendly, providing water bowls and dog treats.

Dogs are welcome in the café and museum as well as in the gardens.
