Edzell

Edzell is a charming village with lots to see and do, and is only a short drive from Brechin. The village was originally named Slateford and was renamed in 1818.

Enter the village under the ‘Dalhousie Arch’, erected in 1887 in memory of the 13th Earl of Dalhousie and his wife.

Here you can visit the Inglis Memorial Hall Library Visitor Centre, the fascinating ruins and spectacular gardens at Edzell Castle and Invermark Castle, built in 1526.

Enjoy a picturesque riverside walk to take in the views at the Rocks of Solitude or walk across the Shakin Brig, a 100 year old suspension bridge across the River North Esk.

Edzell is the gateway to Glen Lethnot and Glen Esk.
