Begin your second day with a private session at Pathhead Farm Dog Park on the edge of Kirriemuir.

The secure field has six-foot fencing and can be booked for exclusive use. It is particularly useful for dogs with limited recall, dogs that need more space around others, or owners who simply prefer a quiet and private place to exercise.

Dogs can explore giant tyres, a tunnel and a sandpit, with open space to run and play. A picnic bench and covered shelter give owners somewhere to sit while enjoying views across Kirriemuir and the Angus countryside.

On Bellies Brae, the life-sized bronze Bon Scott Statue celebrates the former lead singer of AC/DC, who spent his early childhood in Kirriemuir.

Take an afternoon walk through Kirrie Den, a wooded public park close to Kirriemuir town centre.

Known locally as “The Den”, the park follows the Gairie Burn through a peaceful valley. Its network of paths passes through woodland and burnside scenery, with a waterfall and viewpoints around the High Bridge to discover along the way.

Begin your final day with a refreshing walk along Montrose Beach, where around three miles of golden sand extend north towards the River North Esk.

Enjoy views south towards Scurdie Ness Lighthouse and plenty of open space for a morning walk. Choose a short stroll near the promenade or follow a longer route along the beach and inland towards the North Water Viaduct.

Check the tide and weather before setting out, keep well back from rough water and avoid unstable dunes or frozen pools.

After your beach walk, head to Chic Rustic Bistro & Gift Emporium at Tayock Holiday Park.
