View War Memorials in Carnoustie

North side of Dundee Road, Carnoustie

Style: Sandstone semi circular wall with a convex wall in front of it. It is accessed by steps. The memorial is set in a garden. World War 1 names are set on the back wall and those from World War 2 are set in the lower wall. Attached to the rear wall, are two bronze plaques commemorating local V.C. recipients.

Unveiled on 31 October 1925 by the Earl of Strathmore.

Rest Garden completed on 7 June 1926.

Designed by James Prain Bruce, architect in Dundee.

Sculpted by Thomas Beattie, Edinburgh.

Model was local soldier, Charles Crawford.

Shanwell Cemetery, Carnoustie

Style: Rough hewn granite block and plinth with bronze plaque.

War: World War 1

Memorial erected by the members of Erskine United Free Church in Shanwell Cemetery.

Panbride Churchyard

Style: Sandstone monument built on a cairn style base, with a square plinth and column, surmounted with a cross. Names are duplicated on a polished granite slab for clarity.

War: World War 1

Unveiled in October 1920 by the Countess of Dalhousie.
