Arbroath’s Signal Tower Museum is located near the picturesque harbour in a complex of buildings which were originally used as the shore station and accommodation for the Bell Rock Lighthouse. Built in 1813, Signal Tower served the lighthouse until it was decommissioned in 1955 and became a museum in 1974.
Join us for ‘Rocks of Angus’ – an exciting celebration of Scotland’s rich geological heritage. Discover the fascinating world beneath your feet with a weekend packed full of engaging displays and hands-on activities.
Explore a stunning variety of rocks, fossils, and glowing fluorescent minerals, and learn how they reveal the story of Scotland’s ancient landscapes. There will be plenty to spark curiosity for visitors of all ages, including fun children’s activities designed to inspire young explorers.
Don’t miss our free talk titled ‘The Geology of Scotland’ at 1pm each day. Come and see the world from a new perspective and be inspired by the immense geological forces that have shaped our land.
Tower Tours are also available each day.
