Greenhillock is Angus’s first eco-campsite, set in beautiful wildflower meadows, offering guests the chance to unwind and enjoy quality time in nature.
Guests can choose to stay in one of the custom-designed Hobbit Houses or a luxury bell tent complete with ‘proper’ beds. Alternatively, they can bring their own camping gear and use one of the spacious pitches nestled among the wildflowers. The site is car-free ensuring a safe and tranquil stay.
A warm welcome and a back to basics camping experience with just the right facilities close to hand await guests. Campfires are a must! There is a communal BBQ area and Field Kitchen featuring a log burning stove for when the weather doesn’t play ball. Regular pizza nights and bar and BBQ events take the stress out of catering for your family. The Art Shack, packed with art and craft materials and Den Zone featuring a balance run and mud kitchen means there’s plenty to keep the family entertained. Guests can borrow pond dipping equipment, sign up for a guided bug hunt or simply relax by their campfires.
A dedicated ‘grown-ups’ area of the site provides a more tranquil break for those not camping with kids.
Greenhillock is more than just a campsite. The expanding food and drink offer is designed to delight you with local produce and make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Saturday night (and Wednesdays in the school holidays) is pizza night. The two wood fired pizza ovens, Dolce and Rita, are fired up in the Pizza Huttie. You get to roll out, top and fire your own delicious pizzas. Don’t worry team GHG are on hand to help with the firing and keep the ovens stoked. Pizza does need to be pre-booked as Kate makes the dough and toppings boxes to order in the morning.
Monthly bar and BBQ events featuring burgers and sausages provided by Mill of Inverarity Farm Shop and local beers from Shed 35 showcase the best of local produce. They are a chance for you to relax in The West End let Stig do all the cooking for you while Kate serves tasty cocktails, prosecco and beers from Polyanna the horse box bar. Live music from local musicians completes the laid back vibe.
The small on-site camp shop – The Tack Store – stocks all the camping basics and treats and snacks. Proper coffee, tea and hot chocolate are served in the mornings and breakfast rolls are available on Sundays.
