Immersive Art Retreat at Historic Ethie Castle with Kate Cunningham
About This Event
‘The Art of the Landscape: A Residential Art Retreat at Ethie Castle’
Step back in time and ignite your creativity at the historic Ethie Castle. Led by Angus artist Kate Cunningham (BA(HONS) 2014, Duncan of Jordanstone), this immersive art retreat offers a rare opportunity to live and paint within the walls of a 14th-century castle, once home to Cardinal Beaton and a favorite haunt of Sir Walter Scott.
Whether you are a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time, Kate will guide you through the process of capturing the atmospheric beauty of the Angus coastline and the castle’s own lush grounds. The retreat provides a creative sanctuary, an opportunity to develop your creative practice at your own pace. In this beautiful setting you will learn how to capture the dramatic light and grand scale that defines the North East coast.
