Join Friends of Arbroath Abbey on Monday 6 April 2026 as Arbroath Abbey comes alive with the annual Declaration Day celebrations — a vibrant community event honouring one of Scotland’s most important historical documents, the Declaration of Arbroath.

Step inside the Abbey from 9am, with free entry for all visitors, and take in the atmosphere of this iconic site where Scotland’s famous 1320 appeal for recognition was once sealed.

From 12.45pm, visitors will gather outside the Abbey before the procession sets off at 13:20, led by pipe bands as it travels down the High Street toward the harbour — echoing the journey the original Declaration began more than 700 years ago.
