National Tartan Day at Glamis Castle
About This Event
Join us for a day of Scottish traditions and fun as we celebrate National Tartan Day at Glamis Castle.
We will have a live Piper located at the front entrance of the castle who will play traditional Scottish tunes at 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm. Alternatively, tap your feet to the tunes of our talented accordionist who will be located in our Courtyard area between 1pm – 3pm.
Discover the art of tartan weaving and hear fascinating insights about Scotland’s rich textile heritage when coming along to one of the tartan talks hosted by local textile company, Strathmore Woolen Mill.
If you come along to Glamis Castle wearing tartan, we will reward you with homemade shortbread when you purchase a tea or coffee from our Castle Kitchen Restaurant. What’s more, if you wear a kilt or tartan skirt, you can enjoy complimentary access to our gardens and grounds!
