Blue Rose Code is led by Edinburgh-born Singer Songwriter, Ross Wilson. For the Gig at Montrose Playhouse, Blue Rose Code will be playing in Duo format, when Ross Wilson, on guitar and lead vocals, will be accompanied by his long-term bandmate, Lyle Watt, on acoustic and electric guitars.

At the edge of contemporary Alt-Folk, the music of Ross Wilson evokes a meeting of Van Morrison and a young John Martyn, both shipwrecked with a bunch of Motown records.

After Headline performances at Cambridge Folk Festival and Gate to Southwell with his nine-piece Caley Soul band, as well as a sold-out Celtic Connections show at the 1400 capacity Pavilion Theatre, Ross Wilson has spent the past few months re-connecting with his roots in live club performance. The new 2026 Blue Rose Code studio Album will be closer to the broad Scottish Folk/Singer Songwriter style that brought Ross Wilson to work with the likes of Karine Polwart, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Deacon Blue.
