As part of our annual tradition of ” Celtic Connections almost by Your Own Fireside”, we are delighted, for 2026, to promote two (not just one), brilliant bands, who are performing during Glasgow’s yearly Festival, which celebrates all facets of Roots and Folk Music.

The Foghorn Stringband is the present day gold standard for real-deal hard hitting genuine Old-time American string band music. They have nine Albums, thousands of shows and over 15 years of touring under their belts. American Roots music is a diverse and never-ending well of inspiration. Foghorn Stringband continually and obsessively draws from Old-time, bluegrass, classic Country and Cajun music traditions in an ongoing quest to present a broad span of American music with youthful energy, joy and virtuosity.

Foghorn Stringband are made up of four master musicians; they are Caleb Klauder (vocals, mandolin and fiddle) and Reeb Willms (vocals, guitar), both from Washington State, together with Nadine Landry (vocals, upright bass) from Quebec and Stephen “Sammy” Lind (vocals, fiddle, banjo) from Minnesota. They were originally the backing band for legendary musician and producer, Dirk Powell, who for 10 years was the accompanist for Joan Baez, and latterly worked with Levon Helm of The Band.
