Peel Farm

Begin your agritourism adventure at Peel Farm, a working farm in the heart of Angus.

Located at the foot of the beautiful Angus Glens, minutes away from the spectacular Reekie Linn waterfall, Lintrathen Loch and the Backwater Reservoir, Peel Farm is surrounding by stunning rural countryside.

Here you will find a coffee shop, gift shop, farm shop and self-catering accommodation.

Enjoy a walk along their beautiful nature trail where you’ll see pigs, red deer, various poultry, Pygmy goats and miniature donkeys, as well as lots of wildlife, native plant life and a viewpoint of one of the three waterfalls on the River Isla. There is also an old mill pond which is home to ducks and geese.

Dogs are very welcome on the nature trail as long as they are on a lead.

While you’re there, enjoy a hot or cold drink in the coffee shop alongside some delicious home baking, and stock up on local produce at the farm shop – a paradise for food lovers, stocked with rare-breed pork, grass-fed lamb and beef and free-range eggs from the farm’s woodland chickens, as well as artisanal preserves, honeys and condiments and fresh vegetables.

Pathhead Farm

Enjoy a spot of lunch at The Garden Café at Pathhead Farm.

Pathhead serve seasonal lunches, much of which is grown in their own vegetable garden less than 50 metres away from the café, produced on a seasonal basis under glass, polythene or out in the garden, alongside fresh bean coffee, tea and home baking.

Take a walk around the farm where you can wander through the garden area and see the farm’s animals.

Pathhead also have a fantastic equestrian centre, ideal for all ages and experience levels, whether you’ve been riding for years, or you’ve always wanted to give it a go.

The farm and café are dog friendly, and there is also a brilliant secure dog park for your four-legged friends.

Newton Farm

Join Newton Farm Holidays in their epic farming life with award winning farm experiences on their traditional working family farm near Forfar.

The Scullery Restaurant offers delicious dining with waterside views, alongside the dog-friendly Cairn O’Mount Bar with comfortable Chesterfield booths and a crackling log-burning stove.

The varied menu at Forbes of Kingennie utilises the abundance of fantastic homegrown produce available from their family farm next door at Omachie, including peas, strawberries, free range eggs and rhubarb. If you’re looking for menu recommendations, the pork from the local farm never goes amiss – a firm favourite among diners.

Charleton Farm

Nestled in the heart of Angus, Charleton Farm just outside of Montrose has been a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike for generations.

Dogs on leads are welcome around much of the farm including the fruit picking areas (the only exceptions being the play park and certain indoor restaurant tables).

Upper Dysart Larder

Upper Dysart Larder’s Hay & Play experience in Montrose features a fun play park and animals – a safe place for children to explore and play on the farm as well as a great walk around the animal paddocks.

Say hi to the highland coos, alpacas, miniature donkeys, goats, pigs and more! You can feed them, and various farm experiences and tours are available too – see their website for details.

Dogs are welcome along for the visit too and there is a lovely walk around the field as part of Hay & Play.
