Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre is on the site of Britain’s first operational military airfield which was established by the Royal Flying Corps in February 1913.
A collection of contemporary photographs, artefacts and memorabilia not only tell of the history of the airfield but also the story of the men and women who served there and those who lived in the area.
Dogs are very welcome and are allowed across the site and inside the various buildings.
The golden sands of Montrose Beach stretch for three miles from Montrose to the North Esk River, with stunning views south to Scurdie Ness Lighthouse.
There is a circular walk that heads along the length of the beach before returning via an inland route, visiting the fine North Water viaduct, or you can just enjoy a relaxing stroll across the sand.

House of Dun is a Georgian mansion house outside of Montrose, designed by renowned architect William Adam.
Whilst dogs are not permitted inside, the house is surrounded by beautiful formal gardens as well as vast woodland with fantastic walking opportunities for your furry friends.
Dogs on leads are also welcome in the café.
