Visit Angus is committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to meet the requirements of the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, at level AA.
This statement applies to: https://visitangus.com

We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible, and we are currently working to address these issues.
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons.
On several pages (Home, What’s On, Accessibility):
At 200% and 400% zoom, some elements become partially hidden behind the cookie banner.
When the hamburger menu is expanded at higher zoom levels, focus can move behind the menu, making it difficult to see which item is selected.
We plan to fix this as part of our next accessibility update by 28/03/2026
On the homepage header navigation (e.g., “Things to See and Do”), the dropdown menus do not offer a way to dismiss the additional content without moving the pointer or keyboard focus.
We plan to fix this by 28/03/2026
Images in the Instagram feed do not have meaningful text alternatives, meaning screen-reader users may not understand the purpose of the links.
We are working with a 3rd party plugin provider to resolve this but don’t have a date of resolution as of yet.
We are currently reviewing and updating areas of our website to resolve the issues listed above. This includes:
Updating components that do not meet WCAG 2.2 AA requirements
Reviewing third-party integrations (such as Instagram feeds)
Conducting further internal testing at higher zoom levels
Updating cookie banner behaviour to ensure focus is never obscured
We are working with our digital partner to agree timelines for these fixes and will publish them here once confirmed.
This website was last tested on 17 November 2025 by the Government Digital Service (GDS). We also carry out our own checks on an ongoing basis.
