Description:

The Country Park’s Island Pond (reservoir) fished by the Monikie Angling Club was created in the mid-1800s to provide the water supply to the nearby city of Dundee.
The pond is no longer used as a water supply, but now provides some great quality fishing. At 76 acres, it is stocked by the club with superb quality, fighting-fit rainbow trout.
The Bailiff’s hut is located beside the Island Pond, where there is free parking, including two disabled bays. Tea, coffee and microwave facilities are available free of charge at all times.
There are 12 boats available for hire. Life jackets are provided and must be worn over outer clothing while out on the water.
Anglers are welcome to use their own electric outboard motors, but none are available for hire.
Please note it is fly fishing only. No bank fishing is permitted. Only club boats can be used, and no anchoring is allowed.
If you’re lucky you might see osprey demonstrating how to catch trout, or you may even spot our family of otters.
