You are warmly invited to tour the historic home, Brechin Castle, where a treasure trove of stunning artifacts, paintings, and tapestries await.

Standing proudly on a massive bluff of rocks overlooking the River Southesk, Brechin Castle sits on the site of much older fortress belonging to the Scottish kings. During your tour, you will take a journey through time learning how the building evolved from a defensive role to its present great house style. Our guides bring their own knowledge and perspective to the experience, thus making each interaction intimate and unique.

After your guided tour, enjoy a stroll through the mature trees and rhododendrons dotted throughout the grounds. Its paths will take you to the Castle’s majestic 13-acre sloping walled garden that is best known for its curving walls and varied plantings. You can take in all the beauty that the garden has offer at your own leisure, perhaps even visiting the Head Gardner’s Cottage that now houses a seasonal pop-up tearoom.

Entry only permitted through private guided tours running Wednesday to Sunday at 1pm & 2.30pm.
