Acoustic Music at Montrose Playhouse present a first appearance in Montrose by The Hot Seats from Virginia, USA. In the words of the Richmond Times, “ If you do not have a good time, when the Hot Seats play, check your pulse, you might be dead.”

The Hot Seats concert at Montrose Playhouse is the night, before they embark on the Ferry to the 2025 Shetland Folk Festival, where they are one of the star attractions.

Underpinned by a foundation in hard-driving bluegrass, old time, ragtime, jug blues and early Country music, the Hot Seats have become known as social commentators, satirists and entertainers in the tradition of Woody Guthrie and Frank Zappa.

The Band will be Ben Belcher, on fiddle, banjo and bass, Josh Bearman, on mandolin, banjo and guitar, Jake Sellers, on percussion and bass, as well as Rudy Bee, playing fiddle, tuba, accordion and piano; all four also contribute vocals.
