‘My Angus’ is a week-long programme of events and special offers, running from 25 to 31 March 2024, celebrating some of the attractions and experiences that Angus has to offer, and encouraging people living in Angus to live like a tourist and be ambassadors for their area.
It gives local residents the opportunity to discover some of the many places to visit in Angus, including some they might not have been to before, by taking advantage of exclusive events or added-value experiences throughout the week.

Foodies living in Angus will be spoilt for choice – there’s plenty to whet your appetite during My Angus!
Join WeeCOOK, award-winning pie makers for their highly sought after, immersive Pie Panel on 28 March. Come hungry to learn how pies are taste tested and judged, taste and enjoy pies plus have a go at making your own pie to take home with you. Little ones are invited to join WeeCOOK on 30 March for an immersive pie making masterclass in making and creating their own mini pie.
Avid foodies can chow down on some fantastic dining out offers during My Angus, with Glenesk Hotel in Edzell, Andreous in Arbroath, Charleton Farm near Montrose and Imrie’s Bar & Grill offering special discounts for Angus residents during My Angus. Angus residents can enjoy free admission to Montrose Basin Visitor Centre during My Angus. The centre is nestled among the picturesque setting of Montrose Basin, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the reserve and all its wildlife. Come along to learn more about the history of Montrose Basin and its wildlife.
Whether you are looking to let the kids burn off some energy on the farm, catch up with friends over a lunch or coffee in the tearoom or stroll on the beautiful nature reserve, there is something for everyone at Murton, near Forfar. During My Angus, take part in a free Scavenger Hunt on the nature reserve for all to enjoy.
Davidson Legacy Cottage
Angus has a rich and fascinating history, and there’s always something waiting to be discovered. During My Angus, people living in Angus can explore our heritage with some fantastic offers and events.
Glamis Castle has a rich and fascinating history and has seen many famous visitors, from Mary, Queen of Scots to James V. During My Angus, come along and enjoy a tour of the castle at a discounted price, learn about the history and see all the amazing things the castle has to offer.
The Tayside Police Museum in Kirriemuir charts the history of policing in the surrounding area from the early 1800s through to the present day. During My Angus, enjoy a tour of this fascinating museum led by the curator.

Angus has a number of self-led heritage trails, designed to showcase our historical highlights. During My Angus, head along to Arbroath Signal Tower Museum, Meffan Museum in Forfar and Montrose Museum where you can pick up a copy of the trail for each town and follow it to find out about the history of each town.
Friockheim Village Park
Get out and about and explore what’s on in your local community during My Angus.
Join volunteers from Brechin Community Led Tourism for a walking tour of Brechin on 26 & 27 March and explore various sites in the town. Find out more about the projects that have been taking place, view the Pictish style stones and hear about future projects.
Friockheim Park is home to a constituted community group who work to maintain the village, including the public toilets, park, gardens, litter bins and bus stops. Pop along on 31 March to find out more about the work of the group and enjoy a tour of the village.

During My Angus, Scots Law Talks will deliver their latest talk in the Criminal Law Series: The Guilty Act at Arbroath Library. Attendees will become members of the jury as they examine the case of Mr Ernest Ramsay throughout the evening. They will then need to collectively determine his fate: will they find him innocent or guilty.
