Visit Kirriemuir Camera Obscura, one of only three active Camera Obscuras in Scotland, situated on Kirrie Hill and providing 360° views of the surrounding countryside. View the unique camera and hear stories about Sir JM Barrie, his early life in Kirriemuir, the history of the camera building, as well as anecdotes about the places seen through the camera and the people they relate to.

Cafe Obscura serves teas and freshly ground coffee as well as light snacks and ice cream.

Please note, the camera room is reached by stairs and there is no wheelchair access. The café is wheelchair accessible. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the cafe but not in the camera room for safety reasons.
