Glamis Castle Special Access
Monday 20 to Friday 24 March
10am to 4.30pm daily
Found in the very heart of Angus, Glamis Castle has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372. With over one thousand years of history, Glamis Castle is the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and her daughter, Princess Margaret, was later born at the castle. Glamis Castle was the inspiration for Shakespeare’s MacBeth. From the first blooms of daffodils along the mile-long avenue in spring, to the high drama of The Macbeth Trail with its atmospheric wood sculptures, and the vastness of the Douglas firs in the Pinetum, to The Walled Garden’s vibrant borders at their peak in late summer or through the beautiful Italian Garden, the castle, gardens and grounds are full of stories, sights, and scents.
During My Angus, locals can visit Glamis Castle for the concession rate of £12.50 per person which includes a guided castle tour and access to the ground and gardens. You will receive the warmest of welcomes from expert guides who will offer you the chance to experience what it was like to live here through the ages. Visitors can also explore the spectacular gardens at leisure, including the Walled Garden where fresh fruit and vegetables are grown and supplied to the Castle Kitchen, going on a journey from garden to plate.
Book your visit online or at the castle ticket office.
