Doors Open Days - St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church
With its distinctive turrets, the church was described in February 1848 as ‘an ornament to the town. It houses both the only working neo-classical chamber organ of its size in the UK, and a Memorial dedicated to the 9 ‘Sons of St Thomas’ who fell during the Great War.
The church will be open to visitors from 10:00 until 12:00 on Saturday 2 September and guides will be available to answer your questions. A coffee morning and bring and buy sale will also be take place in the hall next door whilst the church is open. Visitors are encouraged to come and join us for refreshments. All proceeds will go towards our building renovation fund.
