Doors Open Days - Arbroath Royal Observer Corps Post Museum

Royal Observer Corps Post Museum

This underground relic of the Cold War is one of only two refurbished ROC Monitoring Posts open for access in Scotland and includes a collection of original equipment and instrumentation, some of which are demonstrated. Enjoy a short talk followed by a guided tour. Access is via a 15ft vertical ladder and is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties although all are welcome to attend the above ground activities. Children must be aged 10+. A surface museum also houses memorabilia. Preceding the Cold War the ROC identified and reported hostile aircraft from 1925 - mid 50s. The remains of the observation area is on site and kitted out with the instrumentation used for this role.

Open Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 September. Pre-booked tours only. Directions and tour times will be given when booking.

This event is part of Doors Open Days.
