Sir Hugh Munro (1856-1919) of Lindertis, near Kirriemuir was a founder member of the Scottish Mountaineering Club and the first person to make a list of Scottish mountains of 3000 feet or over.

Sadly he died of pneumonia in 1919, having only two Munros left to climb.

Visit the Gateway to the Glens Museum to view a display dedicated to Munro and his life.
