The Isla Ratcliff Trio at Montrose Folk Club

Isla Ratcliff, an outstanding fiddle player, singer and composer from Edinburgh, is touring in Spring 2023 to showcase her debut Album, “The Castalia”. The Album features traditional and self-composed tunes, inspired by the year, which Isla spent in Nova Scotia in 2019.

The Living Tradition described The Castilia as “quite the best debut album that has come this way in a long time”. Isla was nominated for Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the 2022 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards.

Isla is a very fine Singer of both traditional and contemporary material. She will be performing for the Montrose audiece a well chosen selection of songs, in addition to the whole of The Castilia, accompanied by her trio, featuring Ellen Gira, on cello, and Iona Reid, on piano, with both on backing vocals.
