Migrations – A Field Study of Adversity

Artist Derek Robertson is a renowned wildlife artist and a well-known contributor to bird research in Scotland.

While studying and sketching the migration of birds, Derek realised how some aspects related to the desperate journeys of refugees.

His paintings bring together the issues of climate change and refugee crises using birds as a metaphor for people, in their role as environmental indicators, in this thoughtful, sensitive and provocative body of work.
