Enjoy 48 hours of history

Angus has a rich history and many stories to tell.

Start off your journey at Arbroath Abbey, once a monastery for Tironensian monks founded in 1178 and setting for the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320. Travel on to House of Dun, a traditional Georgian mansion house with extravagant plasterwork and a fascinating history.

Enjoy a relaxing stay overnight before your visit to Glamis Castle, one of Scotland’s most famous landmarks. This was the legendary setting for Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ and has links to a number of famous people including Princess Margaret. End your 48 hours of history with a trip to the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre where you can explore the story of men and women who served in the RAF during the first and second World Wars.
