East Campsie Cottage

East Campsie Cottage

Description

Sitting off the beaten track within the extensive Airlie Estate is East Campsie Cottage, a rural hideaway that makes for the perfect escape, set amidst the natural beauty of the gorgeous Angus Glens.

Situated down half a mile of rough farm track, this charming cottage is south-facing so it gets sunlight for most of the day. The heart of the house is definitely the airy and bright sitting/dining room where time can be spent relaxing in front of the wood-burning stove that is an attractive focal point and also keeps everything toasty.

Partly open plan to the sitting/dining room is the colourful, dual aspect kitchen and there is a handy little utility room, with a WC off it, at the entrance that provides space to do laundry and air out wet jackets and coats on the drying rack.

The spacious downstairs double bedroom has pretty, country views to admire from its windows and benefits from a bright en-suite shower room, while the neat twin bedroom makes use of the family bathroom. Upstairs is a large twin bedroom and a useful snug/reading room leading through to it, which is a great place for the kids to separate off into.

A huge lawn stretches out in front of the house with farmland beyond it where sheep and horses graze serenely. Plenty of parking space can be found by the back door and care should be taken at the edge of the garden (particularly with children) as there is a steep bank leading down to a stream. It is a truly idyllic setting with only the sounds of the birds singing and the stream trickling by punctuating the quiet.
